While in County Kerry, we had to drive The Ring of Kerry, undoubtedly Ireland's most popular scenic drive. The Ring of Kerry is the name for the small highway that skirts the edges of the Iveragh Peninsula, passing along the way a panorama of rugged coastline, tall mountains, and pristine lakes. There isn't much to say about the drive that the photos can't say for themselves.

I just love what my wide angle lens does to pictures.

Can you believe this photo was taken in Ireland? Looks like Greece to me.

This is Ballinskellig Bay.

Here is a good example of how treacherous the roads on the Ring of Kerry were.

We put the camera on top of our little car to take this picture. It came out mighty well if I do say so myself.

The two islands in the background are, Little Skellig and Skellig Michael.

Quite a few times in our travels around Ireland, we mistook cows for horses. The cows are so healthy and lean. Unfortunately though, the beef just didn't taste good because of this.

What? No Leprechauns?

We got our little car stuck when we pulled off the road to take this photo.

Later I was going through the photos on the camera and thought we had lost our hubcaps on the rental car. Gregg pointed out that the car in the picture wasn't ours, ours was behind him in the photo.

We stopped to get a pint at this lovely pub after driving the ring of Kerry.

I thought all of the little bottles at the bar was pretty neat. They don't use a lot of plastic in Ireland.

My half pint and Gregg's full pint.

I picked up a chocolate croissant on our way back to the car. And oddly enough, it was the best one I've ever had.

We finally made it to the hotel for the evening. It was comfortable, and clean.

The grounds were pretty nice too. Look at our little car sitting out front. How funny!

Here's our cute little bathroom. This one was pretty nice.

There, in the center of this picture is Ross Castle across the lake. This was the view from our room.

We stayed at
Loch Lein Country House Hotel that evening. It was a very quite place and that was nice.

The proprietor asked where we were staying on our next few night. When we told him Dromoland Castle, he laughed and said that we were slumming it tonight at his place. Guess Dromoland has a reputation.

Here I am with Gregg on his 33rd Birthday.

He can't help himself. My husband the spy.

Here we read about some local places to eat that night that sounded good, so we thought we might head out soon.

After checking in to our hotel and looking around, we headed out to drive the Gap of Dunlow. We stopped along the way to look around another hotel nearby. This cute cow was out front of that other hotel. His chin itched, so he was scratching it on the fence.
