Colorado Springs - Other Random Photos

While we were on our trip to Colorado Springs, I didn't always have my DSLR with me, so I had quite a few photos on my iPhone that I had to download before I could share.

This was taken in Denver. We knew we were in Colorado when we saw a medical marijuana store.

We stopped on the way to Colorado Springs at this brewpub for dinner. The food was less than stellar, but the beer was mighty good.
This was taken a few days later at another brewpub downtown Colorado Springs. It was a good falafel, a welcome change from the heavy stuff we'd been eating before.
We did some house shopping. I liked the look of this one, too small though.
Gregg liked this one. We toured a few models and have one in mind. Now if we can just get orders.
This was one of the *pages* of taco truck listings I found before our trip. We decided to hit up two taco trucks that were just across the street from each other.
This was a converted bus. You could go in and sit down. The girl inside didn't speak much English and apparently our Spanish was not sufficient. Our food however, was delicious.
Payton was less than thrilled at the taco truck experience. She's a little high maintenance.
Gregg and Austin were loving the new experience.
This was the second taco truck. I'm a huge fan of taqueria style tacos.
Gregg caught this out the window of our hotel one evening.
We went to a dinosaur museum for the kids one morning. Here are Gregg, Payton & Austin causing some sort of destruction to property I'm sure.
Our last night in Colorado Springs we went to another brewpub. That is one of the reasons that it is so appealing to us, there are tons of breweries. I had this goat cheese and veggie pizza with a nice stout.
Take note of the girl with the eyebrow condition, funny.
I took this panorama from our hotel window. I would love to wake up to a view of the mountains.
Just after this we made our way back to Nebraska. I was excited to see Jolie, but otherwise I was less than thrilled at the weather change we could most definitely expect.
We woke up the next morning to this. Not cool.
The kids had to go to school the next morning. We had already taken them out for this trip and Payton had a Junior High info day, so it was back to school for them on Wednesday. Here they are eating breakfast that very morning.
Gregg got busy napping and Jolie took her rightful place as the nap heater.
He had the rest of the week off, as did I.

Colorado Springs - Royal Gorge

The evening before we made out way back to Nebraska from Colorado Springs we made our way to the Royal Gorge. Payton wasn't too thrilled about this part of the trip, mainly because she's not good with heights. Neither is Gregg for that matter, but I didn't catch him freaking out like Payton.
Is that excitement I see on Payton's face? Or anxiety?

It was a long way down. These big metal cages go down this track from the top of Royal Gorge, to the bottom.

We made it to the bottom a few minutes later.
Payton was hiding, can you find her? Hint: you can just see the top of her head center frame.

Here's the view out the top of the cage on the way back up.
After our little cage ride, we walked across the bridge. We had to stop and attempt a family picture first though.
We walked half way across and then turned back, it was getting cold.
Payton didn't like the fact that the bridge was made of wood planks, so she ran back.
The ride in the car was even worse for her. I think it was the thumping sound as the tires hit each wooden plank.
I think I'll have just one more post from Colorado Springs. More random pictures from my iPhone.
