This is the first road we got on after leaving Medford, OR. To think this was the worst weather we'd see would have been a grave underestimate.
This snow pack was on the side of the road, it literally came up midway on the window of Gregg's lifted Toyota Tacoma. The amount of snow was no joke.

The further South and East we got, the roads got a little clearer.
I know you cannot tell from this photo, but we were on the side of a mountain and there was a serious drop over the edge with no guard rail.
Leaving Oregon...
Into Nevada...
Utah...
Once night was upon us and the temperature started to drop, the roads started getting slick.
Then the white-outs hit.
And lasted for what seemed to be forever. There was blowing snow and dozens of overturned vehicles and tractor trailers. But we finally made it home 30+ hours later. This trip home was 4 hours longer (not including time zone changes) than our trip to Oregon. I'm just glad we made it home safely. There were moments I had my doubts about if we would ever arrive.
Anyway, my Spring semester starts up again tomorrow, so posts will most likely slow down for a while.
