Oregon Christmas Trip - Part 1

After spending Thanksgiving in Oklahoma with Mike and his family, we finally decided to make the trip out to Oregon to visit more. We had a really great time with them, but the road trip (1600 miles) out there was horrific. I am going to have to split up the pictures into quite a few posts, so here is the first segment. These photos are from the road trip out to Oregon. We stayed the night in Salt Lake City (which was very nice for such a large city).

We took Jolie on this trip with us because we were gone for 9 days and I couldn't leave her, she gets quite upset when we leave for more than a day or two. Austin got a DS for Christmas, so he played that sucker to death in the truck.

The landscape was ever changing, and the roads were great on the way TO Oregon. On the way back, those were another story...

I believe this was taken in Wyoming. I can just imagine living there, it would be divine.

This was taken as we entered Oregon.
We went through Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, & Oregon.

Gregg loves driving, so he drove the entire way there. He got quite tired on the trip home though because it took so much longer and I ended out driving for a while. It was 13 hours of driving each day on the way to Oregon.

This is outside of Salt Lake City, UT. Everything around there was dead looking and this ugly yellow/orange color. Not very pretty at all.

There was a considerable amount of fog on our way out there. We would drive for miles and miles and occasionally get a glimpse of some snow covered peaks far in the distance.

The second day of our road trip (after out stay in Salt Lake City, UT), Payton woke up sick and really didn't feel well. She slept most of that second day in the truck. Luckily she only vomited once and felt mostly recovered the following morning, though the sniffles and a cough have persisted.

Jolie enjoyed looking around and sleeping. She looks like she is about to sneeze in this photo.
