Flashback Friday

I have always loved this photo from July 2001. Gregg had just gotten back from a school under the Enlisted Commissioning program. This was the first time I had seen him in khaki's and I thought he was just too handsome for words. I had to wait for a kiss though, Payton was first in line.

Current Crafts & Projects

Payton started her science project yesterday. She is testing what type of water makes radish seeds grow fastest. I know it's not that interesting, but it's better than counting colored M&M's in my book. I'll be sure to report back on how it goes.

Obviously she's testing sugar water, salt water & plain water. I have my doubts on if any of them with sprout. I'm not very good with plants, they never seem to tell me when they need a drink.

And today I finished making my menu chalk board. I found this awesome old frame at a local art store. I think it came out quite rustic and really cool. I used that chalk board paint to paint a pane of glass. Now I don't have to post sticky notes of the planned menu anymore.
In my opinion we have a very atypical American menu. This week is, M: Leftovers, T: Chili Frito Pies (one of my favorites, an Oklahoma thing I think), W: Mulligatawny (one of Gregg's favorite soups, if you like curry you'll like this), Th: Pizza (I think this is actually going to be left over ribs instead), F: Chicken Shawarma (another one of Gregg's favorites, it's a middle eastern pita sandwich thing. We're having it with couscous salad and hummus), Sa: Obviously missing from our menu, we eat out every Saturday, Su: Chile Relleno Casserole (new recipe I found online, we'll see how that goes).

Another view, ignore the crap on the counter, I was less than concerned when I snapped these shots. You shouldn't be concerned either. =o)
