Things I Learned Today...

Today was Mother's Day and once again, Payton made me the funniest gift. I wanted to share a few things that I learned about myself today from Payton's point of view.

1.  Apparently I am funniest when I have a story to tell that begins with, "I was in the parking lot..."
2.  I am special because I "cook, care, and calm" my family. Payton says this is lucky because it's 3C's rather than 3K's.
3.  I make the best pancakes in the world.
4.  I am the best because I'm not "cheesy."
5.  I am the best because I have curly hair.
6.  I am the best because I speak my mind.
7.  I am the best mom because I clean the house.
8.  Payton loves me B's & B's.

Are the Titans Ready for Payton?

Monday evening, Gregg and I had our "parent information night" at Papillion / LaVista Jr. High School.  It is a nice school, old, but well maintained.  They have 7th and 8th graders there, and a total enrollment of almost 800 students! The school is set up perfectly for a "Breakfast Club" type of detention day, running around in circles from the principal. One of the janitors was even blasting out some music from the 80's as we toured the facility.

I cannot believe that Payton is entering Junior High School this Fall.  Anyway, the meeting was a total bore and completely unnecessary, that is, until the parents started asking questions. That portion of the evening was quite informative.  The school had set up tour groups, and because Gregg and I aren't group people, we set out on our own to have a little fun.  I decided to document some of it for Payton when we returned home, but couldn't help sharing the funny pictures with friends and family.  Gregg is a good sport and I just love him for making such a painfully boring experience fun and enjoyable!

Payton is going to have a great time in Jr. High. Doubt the staff has any idea of what they are in for.  Although, if they caught just a glimpse of Gregg and I while in the building being silly, I bet they have a bit of a clue.
