The Drama Years

Since Thursday was Payton's birthday and she couldn't have her party until Friday because of school, she was able to open her presents from Gregg and I after school, she invited Morgan over to help unwrap and test out the gifts.

Here are a few photos from Thursday:

She learned how to play chess at camp 2 years ago. She decided that a chess set might help her become better at the game.

Uh oh, what's that?

This totally wasn't on her list... and we got SOOOO lucky in finding one.

Here are the girls playing Mario Kart - one of the most fun games ever!

So Payton's birthday party was Friday night. It started out as any other birthday party with little girls arriving and running around excited to get to stay up, be together and play. Though within 2 hours of everyone arriving, it turned into a drama fest around here. I'm not sure if Payton wasn't in a good mood or if the other girls were just being brats, but they didn't want to hang out with her and she really didn't want to hang out with them.

One thing I do know is that kids now days aren't taught how to act when at someones house. Not only were they total brats, but they didn't think they needed to do what I said. By the time the morning rolled around I was ready to scream. So I loaded up each and every little girl and drove them home myself... 4 hours early. I have said it before, but this time I mean it, I will NEVER - EVER - have a large sleep over at my house again - NEVER - EVER.

I just don't think I'm equipped to deal with the drama. Here are a few photos before it all went down the drain...

Samantha, Payton, Morgan & Megan

And here is the only photo I got of the girls when they weren't fighting. Oh well, I tried.

On a side note, we are getting somewhere with Austin's condition it seems. We have finally seen a psychologist & have an appointment to see a speech pathologist in order to determine if he has Austism or Asperger's Syndrome. We have also gotten a referral to NYC to see a specialist in Russell- Silver Syndrome to see if more genetic testing can be done to determine if this is why he is so short. The labels don't really matter, I was just hoping for something that could be fixed so our lives could be more normal. Dealing with his developmental issues have caused a lot of unneeded stress on me & now that I know that if it's either Autism or Asperger's (a form of Austism) it can't be cured and we're just going to have to continue to deal and find a way to cope, the light at the end of the tunnel has all but burnt out. I wish I could snap my fingers and make things right, but that isn't going to happen and I guess I need to find a way to deal with the stress.

Hope everyone is having a good week.
BTW I got a perfect score on my last test, the only one in all of my professors classes. =o)

  1. I hate to tell you, but it only gets worse!! Trust me, I HATE IT!!! GILRS are little B****'s! I know I was not nice, but they are different these days. I know what you mean about not respecting adults. I would BEAT Sage if I ever found out she acted like that! I didn't know about your son. I will be praying for you guys. I know how hard it is not knowing. The months before we found out about Saria were so hard and stressful. Lots of sleepless nights. I will be thinking of you guys!!

  5. Hey girl, I am so sorry to hear about Austin. I don't know if you know this, but I am a speech pathologist and work with Developmentally delayed children. I don't have a ton of experience with Autism, but I have had several children on my caseload diagnosed with it, and the numbers seem to be growing. Here is my e-mail address macheap@woodwardps.net. Please feel free to e-mail me and ask any questions or bounce ideas off of me. I work with some women who have a lot of experience in this area.

By the way, I am so glad I am not going to have to deal with the little girl drama!
